SWINDON will be looking to nurture a run of good form when they play host to Gloucester City Winget this weekend.

Andy Staff’s side have endured a mixed-bag of results this season , winning three and losing three of their opening six games.

But the Swindon skipper is hoping that last week’s impressive 102-run win away to Tewkesbury could provide the platform for a winning run.

However, they will have to navigate their way past a Gloucester team that boast the same league record but sit a place above the County Ground outfit courtesy of superior bowling points.

“So far this season, we have won one and then lost one so it will be nice if we can carry on from the Tewekesbury game and put in another good performance and try to make it a couple of wins on the bounce,” said Staff.

“If we play as well as we did against them we have got every chance of winning the game. It was a really good team performance and that’s what we have got to look to do again.

“If we can play like that every week, we will win more games than we lose.”

Staff is hoping that the return of several key players to the side will provide a boost to morale and help bring some stability back to the side.

“Our availability is starting to get better,” added the captain.

“We’ve been down to the bare bones for some games early on in the season but we had one or two back last weekend and we’ve got another one or two back again for Gloucester.

“That makes for a few selection headaches but that is a good position to be in, not only for us but the second team as well.

“Matt Drakeley and Scott Edmed are both available this weekend.

“They are two of our stronger players so to have them come back in will be a big boost for us.”
