LECHLADE coach Luke Sellers believes his team are not far away from returning to the form that saw them start the 2015 season so impressively.

Sellers’ troops won three of their first four fixtures of the campaign following their promotion from Glos/Wilts Division last term but have since come off second best in each of the last four games.

Although frustrated by his team’s disappointing run of results, Sellers says there is no need to press the panic button ahead of Saturday’s game at home to third-in-the-table Keynsham.

“All the games we’ve lost we have been in them and been competitive. We can take heart from them,” said Sellers.

“We haven’t quite put the big scores on the board that we were at the start of the season and the bowling attack hasn’t quite been firing as it was.

“We just need a gradual improvement in all areas of our game, it isn’t down to any one thing.

“Keynsham are a good side and have played in Premier One fairly recently but from what we have seen in this league everyone is capable of beating everyone else, so we don’t have to fear anyone.

“We have got some excellent players in our squad but we do need to turn things around and we need to start that soon.”

Freddie Martin will return to the Lechlade line-up this weekend, while the club are also hopeful of being able to call on Miles Hammond’s services after a couple of weeks away on duty with Gloucestershire seconds.

However, both Oli Thornley and Paul Godding will not feature this weekend.

Sellers added: “We had to make some late changes last week as well and both Charles Offord and Jay Goddard came up from the second team and did very well.

“They have kept their places on merit.”
