LECHLADE coach Luke Sellers says the team need to find some winning momentum if they are to avoid being in a relegation dogfight this summer.

The Manor Ground side head to basement boys Shapwick & Polden tomorrow eager to get their campaign back on track after a run of six defeats in seven matches.

Sellers believes several players need to look at their own recent performances to try and get them firing up the table.

“As much as cricket is a team game, there are a number of individuals that need to look at their own performances and look at their methods to get them back to playing how we know they can,” Sellers said.

“Brad (Dial) has been showing the way all season and now is the time for the players to step up and support him.”

After getting the season off to a decent start following promotion to Premier Two, Lechlade have struggled and Sellers added: ““I don’t think that there is any pressure on us.

“We know we are capable of competing as we have beaten Keynsham. We know that our form has been great, but this is the time we need to start getting the best of everyone.”

Having missed last weekend’s six-wicket loss to leaders Potterne, Sellers returns to the side tomorrow and he will be joined by Ryan Higgins.

They will be without Tristan Hawkes and Michael Craigs, while they are still waiting confirmation from Gloucestershire as to whether Miles Hammond will be available.
