LECHLADE captain Joe Breet is looking for his side to climb into the Premier Two top four before the end of the campaign.

The Manor Ground side have endured a mixed bag of results this term following their promotion last season.

And a win tomorrow, at home against Weston-super-Mare, could see Breet’s men, who have been indebted to the performances of South African Under 19s World Cup winner Brad Dial this year, could see them move into the top six.

The Lechlade skipper said: “We can’t win the league, but we are still aiming to try and finish in that top four.

“We are no longer looking behind us in the league with the win last weekend (at Taunton), so it is about seeing how high we can get.”

Breet feels that the eight-wicket success last weekend, which saw Dial hit his sixth century of the campaign, shows that Lechlade are capable of competing at this level.

And with only two games of the season remaining, Weston at home and Keynsham away, Breet is determined to end on a high.

He said: “All the sides we have beaten this year so far, Keynsham, Taunton at their place, Thornbury at their place; are all good sides.

“We are more than capable, we just need a bit of luck and we can beat them as well.

“Our aim is to win our last two games. I think it is crucial. When you go out to play, whether it is the first game or the last game of the season, you play to win.”
