AFTER being on the cusp of victory last Saturday, Lechlade skipper Freddie Martin is determined to reach a conclusion tomorrow when they host Rockhampton.

The Manor Ground men were just three overs shy of constituting a game against Warminster before rain set in.

Lechlade had posted 312-9 from their 50 overs, with Joe Breet hitting a 96-ball 112, while South African U19 World Cup winner Brad Dial blasted his way to a 48-ball 77, which included six fours and four sixes.

With both sides required to bat 20 overs for a game to be made, Warminster were 62-3 after 17 overs when the heavens opened.

“It was very frustrating last weekend,” Martin said. “If we had managed to get another three overs in then we would have won.

“We were well ahead on Duckworth/Lewis and it was great to see Joe and Brad bat well.

“In fact, all our batsmen are contributing at the moment and as unit we are showing that we are not a one-man team.

“We have got 11 players who are strong and it means that we are not unbalanced moving forward.”

Lechlade currently sit second in Premier Two Glos/Wilts, level of points with third-placed Goatacre having won the same number of games but have only lost twice to the Goats' three defeats.

Fourth-placed Rockhampton arrive at the Manor Ground after their game with Biddestone was rained off.

Their form prior to that match has been indifferent, with the Rocks beating Burbage and Easton Royal, tying with Gloucester City Winget and losing to Chippenham.
