AARON Stevens' unbeaten 59 off 47 balls guided Nationwide House to an opening victory of the season against Avebury in Division One of the Wiltshire League on Saturday.

The hosts were removed for 155 in 44 overs, Jeremy Richards scoring 41 as John Reivers took 4-21 for House, who reached their target in under 33 overs, Jon Clarke adding 35.

Box lost their opening encounter by two wickets to promoted Bear Flat, skipper Richard Foley scoring 48 of their 168-7 in 45 overs.

But despite Jonny Pegler's 3-50, Flat got home in 42 overs for the loss of eight wickets.

Division Three

SWINDON United Churches started with a 35-run victory over Potterne 3rd.

Put into bat, Churches were indebted to the partnership of Danny Hunt (31) and Jimmy Mann (54 from 57) for a 78-run partnership that set the foundation, Chris Gilchrist later adding 68 in 223-7.

Jack Colyer hit 50 for Potterne in an assured start to the reply, but Hunt's 3-16 and 2-47 from Bilal Hussain saw them succumb to 188 all out in 41.3 overs.

Jon Candy hit 107 and Ravi Tiwari 57 in White Horse's 267-7 against Collingbourne, for whom Tom Carr took 3-33.

The reply got close, Owen Sheppard hitting 64 and Carr an unbeaten 66, but Tom Lentschner took 3-24 to see them finish on 250-9.

Division Four

SPYE Park's 179-9 came largely courtesy of 54 from Andy Ellis, but an unbeaten 96 from Andy Davis helped Corsham 3rd to a winning 181-3 in under 30 overs, while Nationwide House 2nd (190-9) were seven-run winners over Ramsbury (183 all out).

Division Six

JOE Dorgan hit an unbeaten 128 and took 4-10 as his Erlestoke side claimed a five-wicket win over Wilcot, who were dismissed for 228 in their 45 overs.

Dorgan and Ali Coup (53) helped Erlestoke reach their total in the 37th over.

Beckington 2nd clinched a seven-wicket success in a high-scoring victory over Burbage & Easton Royal 3rd.

Burbage amassed 288-7 in their 45 overs, Don Lohrenz scoring 56 and Rory Kelly took 3-51.

Kelly took the initiative in the reply, hitting an unbeaten 145 and Carl Harfield adding 78 as they got home inside 39 overs.

Division Seven

WILL Wales (115) and Flynn Day (54) shared an opening stand of 158 to help Corsham 4th (217-5) to a five-wicket win over Hinton Charterhouse 2nd.

Earlier, Hinton were dismissed for 216 in 42.3 overs, Brad Low hitting 54 and Ben Da Costa taking 3-7 in five overs for Corsham.

The league swings into action in full this coming weekend.
