STEVE Bullen smashed a double-century on home turf as Wiltshire racked up a huge first-innings total on day one of their Unicorns Championship Western Division match against Dorset at Corsham yesterday.

Bullen, who plays for the Station Road club in the West of England Premier League, clubbed 23 fours and three sixes in a 257-ball knock as the home side left themselves in a strong position after the first of three days.

After the home side had lost Patrick Grieshaber early on, Bullen shared a stand of 57 with skipper Ed Young (24) and then 118 with youngster Jake Goodwin (47) as the hosts put together an imposing total.

Jake Lintott's arrival at the crease saw he and Bullen amass a partnership of 190 for the fourth wicket, Lintott (103) reaching his own century off 95 deliveries.

Corsham's Ashur Morrison 32 not out off 12 balls) provided some late hitting as Wiltshire reached 442-6 off their 90 overs, Jigar Naik taking 3-99 for the visitors.

Replying, Dorset had reached 13-0 at the close.
