WILTSHIRE are facing a battle to avoid the follow-on against Unicorns Championship champions Berkshire this morning.

After bowling out the Western Division leaders for 311, Wiltshire were reduced to 120-7 at the end of day one, requiring another 41 runs to avoid being asked to bat again.

After losing the toss, Ed Young’s side found themselves in the field and they made the early breakthrough.

However, Berkshire recovered and were 156-4 at lunch, with Tahir Afridi the pick of the bowlers with 2-38, while the hosts’ were indebted to Euan Woods’ knock of 82.

After lunch, Andy Riston took up the charge for Berkshire before being run out seven short of his century.

The hosts were eventually bowled out in the 69th over, with Afridi claiming 4-58.

Wiltshire’s reply got off to a rocky start and never really recovered as they went from 18-0 to 30-3 in the 11th over.

Ashur Morrison was next to fall for Wiltshire as he was trapped leg before by Riston for 15 to leave the visitors 61-4 after 20 overs.

Two late wickets saw the county 105-7 before closing on 120-7 after 41 overs, with Neil Clark resuming this morning unbeaten on 38.
