Bassett keep the heat on league leaders

Wootton Bassett continued their pursuit of Asians at the top of Division One with an easy six-wicket win over Nationwide.

Wroughton raced to 57-0 with only four of their 10 over allocation gone against Wanborough. but slumped to 112 all out, Barry Seller making 34.

Despite struggling in their innings, Wanborough edged home in the final over by two wickets thanks to Nick Stacey’s crucial 44 not out.

In Division Two Swindon retained their unbeaten record by beating Nalgo 2nds by three wickets thanks chiefly to Paul Sore’s 26 not out.

Swindon 2nds remain second after a 13-run success over Wootton Bassett 2nds.

Ivan Bragenza top scored with 32 not out in Swindon’s total of 109-3, and despite Steve Twine’s 30 not out Bassett fell away towards the end of their innings to close on 96-5.

Blunsdon hauled themselves off the bottom with a surprising four-wicket success over KC Club despite Johan Gouws' 36 for the losers.

Highworth remain favourites in Division Three, having rattled up 134-4 to defeat Ramsbury by 80 runs.

Danny Batchelor cracked 63 not out for Highworth.

Shrivenham 2nds are similarly placed after beating struggling Minety by 31 runs.

Wanborough 2nds remain credible challengers in Division Four after a comfortable 44-run victory over Motorola.

Sean Tregunna top scored with 37 not out as Wanborough posted the top score of the week with 149-4.
