CRAIG Gibbens says winning the WEPL Glos/Wilts Division will allow Goatacre to hold onto their rising talent.
Players such as Jack Haines and Brad Dawson have been called up for Wiltshire’s age-group sides in recent years, and may have sought a move elsewhere to develop themselves further had their current side not made the step up.
But now Gibbens is convinced he will be able to include Haines and Dawson, amongst others, in his teams next term.
“By winning the league and going up, what we’ve done is secure the people at the club already,” he said.
“If one or two were possibly looking to go elsewhere that’s not the vibe I’m getting at the moment. Everybody wants to stay.
“The likes of Jack (Haines) and Brad might want to further their careers don’t need to look elsewhere any more.
“We’re only one step away from playing the best cricket we can possibly play and what a goal that would be.”
