FARINGDON Town lost their grip on second place in North Berks Division One as they went down 6-2 to Saxton Rovers.

Both Kyle Allsworth and Adam Greenaway scored hat-tricks as Rovers leap-frogged Faringdon to take second themselves, and despite a brace from Robert Owen Town have slipped to sixth in the table, two points behind leaders Berinsfield who were not in action.

Paul Powell notched a hat-trick for Didcot Casuals as they rebounded from last week’s setback with a comfortable 6-1 home win over struggling Childrey United, and Dan Bond scored the only goal of the game as Wootton & Dry Sandford won 1-0 away at fellow title challengers AFC Wallingford. Coleshill’s game with Saxton in Division Two was postponed, while Faringdon Town Reserves lost 2-1 to Didcot Reserves, with Wayne Jacks and Charlie Jamieson scoring for Didcot and Jason Evans grabbing one for Faringdon.

In Division Five, Faringdon Town A kept the heat on the leaders with a 4-2 win at basement boys Appleton Stars. Lee Ruddle, Matt Curtis, Lee Quegan and Andy Munns scored their goals with Andy Haywood and Ian Izzard netting for the Stars.
