AFC GLOBE marched into the second round of the Swindon Advertiser Cup with a 7-1 annihilation of Spectrum away from home.

The hosts took the lead in the 10th minute when Marc Cowan found the back of the net, but from then on in it was all one-way traffic as Globe dominated.

The away side quickly clawed level and then flew out of sight to secure a safe passage into round three.

Nigel Baker smashed a hat-trick, Lewis Hill grabbed two and there were also goals from Domenico Mazzotta and James Williams.

Also through to the next stage of the competition are Queensfield, who won 2-1 at Lower Stratton.

Roger Mundy and Victor Cremin put the visitors two goals in front before Daryl Pryor pulled one back for Stratton.

Alisto Pires fired a treble for Sportz Central to help his side into the second round of the George Thomas Cup.

Alonso Cardoza and Aaron Cardoza were also on target in the 5-3 win at Chiseldon, for whom Stuart Cody posted a hat-trick of his own in vain.

Another three-goal hero of the weekend was Spitfires’ Pete Fletcher, whose haul helped his team to a 6-0 victory over Larry’s Plaice.

Sean Light grabbed a couple for the home side, who also had Neil Coles on the scoresheet.

In the Premier Division, DJ Marlborough and Village Inn were forced to share the points after a 2-2 draw.

The game was goalless at the break before the hosts took the lead, but Andi Drinkwater fired Village Inn level.

DJC went ahead once more but Craig Alexander equalised for the visitors.

Fox and Hound produced an emphatic performance to see off Ferndale WMC 7-2 away from home.

Fox and Hound got off to a flying start and raced into a three-goal lead in the 12th minute.

Darryl Kemble put the visitors in front, Jamie Ringham added a second and Darren Rudman the third before Ferndale responded through Daniel Knight after 19 minutes.

Five minutes after half-time, Rudman notched his second of the afternoon to sent Fox and Hound further clear, but Jamie Watts pulled one back for the hosts with 16 minutes remaining.

The last quarter of an hour was a romp for Fox and Hound, however, as Christopher Tewkesbury, Shane Watson and Kemble completed the rout.
