DAN Drewett was the top dog this weekend as he added a brace for Greyhound against SKS Blyskawica to the hat-trick he had got on his debut for Highworth Town on Saturday.

Greyhound continued their 100 per cent record with a 3-1 win to remain on the coat-tails of Longs Bar at the top of the Swindon Sunday League Division One.

Declan King opened the scoring for the home side with a header, before Drewett netted his first of the game.

Blyskawica pulled a goal back but Drewett put the game to bed with ten minutes left on the clock to wrap up his impressive weekend.

Greyhound manager Dave Hawkins was pleased with his side’s performance but claimed there was still a long way to go in the season.

“It was a pretty even game, in the first half there wasn’t much in it and they probably had the best chance to score,” he said.

“In the second half it was the best I had seen my team play this season in a 25 minute period.

“Blyskawica are a good footballing side and they are going to be a hard team to beat this season.

“We’ve got a young side and we brought in some new players to freshen up the squad but the key is we have had much the same team week in, week out so we can rely on the same 13 or 14 players which means a lot.

“I am very pleased at the moment but it is only three games in to the league and I think everybody is capable of beating every one.

“If you have a bad day and someone else has a good day you can quite easily end up getting beat, so we are just taking one game at a time at the moment.”

Elsewhere in the top division, Longs Bar remain top of the league on goal difference courtesy of a 11-4 victory against bottom of the table Inter Sandgate.
