HIGHWORTH Town manager John Fisher wants the Hellenic League to look at how they arrange their mid-week fixtures.

The Elms side must travel to Ascot United this evening - one of their longest trips of the campaign.

The Worthians chief has also pointed out that his side have already travelled to travel Holyport on a Tuesday night and have a trip to Bracknell in midweek coming up.

“I can’t understand why we have to make these sorts of journeys on Tuesday nights,” Fisher said. “I know it is the same for the others, but surely the league could look at giving clubs closer games in midweek.

“It can take almost 45 minutes just to get across Bracknell for a night match and that is what we have got to do to go to Ascot.

“Why can’t we face the teams Oxford way or something like that- just to make it easier for everyone.”

The Worthians head to Ascot in a rich vein of form having only suffered one defeat since the start of September and have won their last five outings.

However the trip to the second placed side will provide Highworth with one of their sternest tests of the season.

“Ascot have got fantastic facilities and it is a great place to play football,” Fisher said.

“It should suit how we play football.

“On Saturday we made Thatcham look ordinary when we beat them (4-1) but we know it is going to be tough on Tuesday.”

Meanwhile, Swindon Supermarine’s Red Insure Cup trip to Cinderford Town tonight has been postponed again due to the Foresters being involved in a FA Trophy replay at Totton.

Cirencester Town will look to progress in their Red Insure Cup tie as they entertain Shortwood United.

Chippenham Town will be hoping to build on Saturday’s 3-1 over Banbury United when they entertain a Redditch United side, who beat Bideford 7-2 at the weekend, at Hardenhuish Park.
