THE NORTH Wiltshire Youth and Minor League are looking into implementing silence from the sidelines on a regular basis.

The league staged a Silent Sunday at the weekend and chairman Andy Ratcliffe was delighted with how it went.

“The feedback we have had is that it went down really well,” he said.

“I went to Wootton Bassett v Malmesbury and it was impeccably observed.

“Other leagues do this sort of thing all the time - they just don’t call it Silent Sunday.

“Now we as a committee will look at rolling this out across the board, if not this season then definitely for next.”

CROFT Blue are still looking for their first win of the season after grabbing a late point in a 10-goal thriller with Highworth.

The match started at a blistering pace, with Keenan Burton netting for Croft only for Highworth to draw level.

Milo Bolton then restored the lead for Croft and Ritchie Harwar made it 3-1.

Highworth were awarded a penalty just before half-time, which they put past Ben Wilkie, who was in goal for the first time this season.

Highworth then struck twice after the break to take a 4-3 lead before Burton bagged his second.

However, Croft were trailing soon after only for Bolton to complete his brace and claim a point for his side.

Under 11 Division 1

Swindon Supermarine J were edged out in a five-goal thriller at Forest Green Rovers.

The Gloucestershire hosts took an early lead, but that was short-lived as Supermarine levelled when Luke Legg prodded home after a goalmouth scramble.

Josh Godwin went close to firing the visitors into the lead but his shot went wide, while Forest Green found keeper Josh Pickett in fine form as he produced a number of superb saves.

Godwin went close to giving the visitors a half-time lead when he ran on to Harry Collins’ pass but the Rovers keeper saved well.

The South Marston youngsters went ahead in the second period when good link-up play between Ben Dixon and Joah Hall saw the ball played in Harry Johnson on the right, who beat two defenders to cross for Legg to net.

Mickey McCann went close to making it 3-1 when he hit the post and Forest Green made them pay for that miss as they restored parity.

After this, the hosts then had another spell of chances but again found Pickett a thorn in their side as he again pulled off several fine saves.

The hosts did however manage to go in front after another goal mouth scramble.

Supermarine then turned on the style as they battled for an equaliser with Legg, Hall, Johnson and Harley-Shaun Platt all going close.

Highworth Town Juniors H came out on top against Swindon Supermarine M with a 2-1 victory at the Rec thanks to two goals from Bilal Durdu.

Highworth Town Juniors T came out on top against Stratton Juniors Black with a 3-1 home win at the Rec.
