SWINDON Spirfires United had their unbeaten run come to a dramatic end as they lost to FC Chippenham 4-0.

With first choice keeper Shona Hanlon not available, Carla Compton found herself in between the sticks and had a busy game.

Chippenham's first came in the 12th minute, their striker firing into the top right hand corner.

United only had a few chances as Mel Bristow was not given the space she has enjoyed in the last few games.

FC Chippenham scored their second just before the end of the half after catching United on the break.

The teams were more evenly matched in the second half as United created some chances, but could not score.

Chippenham extended their ked in 58 minutes and a fourth came 10 minutes from time.

In the Wiltshire FA County Cup Spitfires' U16s ended up soundly beaten 7-2.

First half goals from Dani Granato and Poppy Cottrill were not enough for Spitfires as they lost a 2-1 lead at half time to a strong Trowbridge side by losing out 7-2.

Spitfires lost Poppy Cottrill at half time due to illness and as the weather seemed to worsen so did the score line for Spitfires. A fantastic performance from Chloe Mason in goal despite the score line; a very under par performance from Swindon Spitfires but they will now look forward to their next league game.

Spitfires U12s chalked up a 9-1 at Trowbridge Rangers in the Wiltshire Girls' League, with goals from Erin Pearce (three), Kimberley Jackson (two), Gabby Groves, Kayleigh Stanley, Lucy West and Shannon Whitely.

The U13s went one better with a 10-1 win at Harwell & Hendred in the Oxford League. Goals from Chloe Neate, Aimee Prinzi (three), Courtney Gleed (three), Morgan Ly Culley (two), Chloe Neate and Amelia Sharp.
