NEW Century WMC continued their good form on Sunday as Shane Hibbert netted four times on his full debut for the club.

After losing their opening game of the season 6-2 to Walcot, New Century are now unbeatean in their last four Division One games thanks to a 14-1 win over bottom of the league Inter Sandgate.

The win has put Paddy Slattery’s side just two points off pace-setters Longs Bar and Greyhound.

“It was a good game and they are not as bad as a few of their results may look,” said Slattery.

“They like to play their football but they only had ten men on Sunday and when you see that you can relax a little bit.

“They had a couple of big defeats to Longs Bar and Greyhound so, from our point of view, first and foremost was getting the win but then it was trying to get the goals to boost our goal difference.

“Shane Hibbert is a new signing who is doing well. We’ve got four strikers now which gives us that bit of competition for places and Sunday was Shane’s first start and he took his chance well.

“Every week that goes past we’re getting better and better and if we can get some good results against the teams around us then hopefully we will be there come the end of the season.”

In the division’s only other game Longs Bar completed a 7-1 victory over SKS Blyskawica, while in the Swindon Sunday League Cup FC Walcot were knocked out, losing 7-0 to Division Five Greendown.
