THE first Mini Soccer trophy event series of the season has taken place for the under-nines and tens age groups.

Mini Soccer, which comprises of a non-competitive league campaign and a series of competitive trophy events, is for the under-sevens to under-tens.

All trophy event matches are usually 20 minutes a half with 10 minutes of extra-time if the scores are level, and if the two sides still cannot be separated then the game is decided by penalties.

U9 Trophy Event 1 Winners: Group A – Wootton Bassett Yellow; Group B – Stratton Tigers; Group C – Wanborough; Group D – Supermarine; Group E – Forest Green; Group F – Ferndale; Group G – Fairford; Group H – Chiseldon; Group I – Shrivenham.

U10 Trophy Event 1 Winners: Group A – Robins Red; Group B – Supermarine; Group C – Forest Green; Group D – Greenmeadow City; Group E – Stratton Black; Group F – Lydiard Millicent Green; Group G – Purton; Group H – Fairford; Group I – Hungerford.

UNDER 11 DIVISION ONE

Four goals from Luke Legg helped Swindon Supermarine J to an 8-2 win over the Supermarine T counterparts.

The J side completed their win with further goals from Josh Godwin, Harry Johnson, Zachary Evans and Mickey McCann. Joah Hall was named player of the match.

Under 12 Division 1

Highworth Town Juniors H extended their winning run to three games with a 4-1 win at Wanborough Juniors.

Max Thorley opened the scoring from the edge of the box before Louis Rendell added a second.

Wanborough pulled a goal back through Jake Kimber before half-time only for a great lob from Cameron Hicks and smart flick by Bilal Durdu to seal the Highworth win.

Division 2

Highworth Town Juniors T fell to their first league defeat in two seasons with a 2-1 loss at Hungerford Town Juniors.

Two-nil down at half-time, Highworth pulled a goal back with a smart finish from George Allen after a great cross from Will Lewis.

Division 4

Player-of-the-match James Ejsmont struck late on to give Abbeymeads a 2-1 win over Stratton Youth.

Stratton took an early lead, before Charlie Eustice levelled matters and then Ejsmont fired the winner.

Under 14 Division 1

Swindon Rangers Allstars claimed a 1-0 win at Wootton Bassett Blue after Joe Tyson tucked away Toby Kutassy’s through ball.

Division 3

Ferndale put in a hard-working display to defeat Stratton Youth 2-1. An excellent first time finish from Lucas Peachey was cancelled out by a free kick from Stratton but a late Harry Johnson strike secured the points.

There was an assured player of the match midfield display from Jo Gleed.

Under 15 Division 3

Croft Blue recorded their first win of the season as they defeated Lydiard Youth 5-1.

Keenan Burton opened the scoring for Croft before an own goal doubled the advantage.

Milo Bolton made it 3-0 before Burton bagged his second of the match.

Lydiard pulled a goal back only for Harrison Kerly to restore Croft’s four-goal lead and seal the win.

Under 16 Division 2

Sevenfields United showed great character and determination to run out winners against Wanborough Juniors after going 3-1 down.

Man of the match Patty Braganca led the way with 4 goals to put Sevenfield in the lead before Adi Rai made the final score 5-3 to Sevenfields.

Under 17/18 Division 1

Despite going a goal down, Wootton Bassett fought back to win 3-1. Hugo Vivash scored one in each half and a Ben Gerrish strike sealed the points for Bassett.

Division 2

Blunsdon remain top of the table after a 5-0 win over Avebury thanks to a Jack Ahrens brace as well as strikes from Liam Yeates, Lewis Wickens and Kieran Marvell-Fox.

League Cup Under 12

Cyril Koomson netted four goals as Greenmeadow booked their place in the semi-final with a 14-0 win over Croft Blue, other strikes came from Felipe Diaz (3), Harry Kearley (2), Josh Sawford (2), player-of-the-match Max Whitfield (2) and Rowan Doyle.

Wiltshire County Cup Under 13

Abbey Meads struck three goals in the final four minutes to break Liden Community hearts.

George Wilkins pulled of a superb save for Meads before Liden scored with 10 minutes to go.

With only minutes left Ben Dodd scored with a fine header, Harry Rule netted before a Brandon Lewis header gave Meads a 3-1 win.

Supermarine had to come from behind in their cup game against Amesbury.

Having trailed 4-1 with 25 minutes remaining goals from Cameron Broganza Osman, Jamie Ward and Bradley Wilkins completing his hat-trick gave Supermarine the victory.
