HIGHWORTH Town boss John Fisher will be betting on his team to pick up three points against Ascot when they host the high-flying Yellamen tonight.

Fisher’s side will be looking for revenge after going down 4-1 to the Berkshire side on the road early this season and are out to gain some much-needed league points.

With the team doing well in the FA Vase, they are slipping off the pace in the league and maximum points will be highly welcomed by Fisher.

“Like I said to them before Saturday’s game, we’ve got two league games against Oxford Nomads and Ascot and we really need to be looking to get six points,” he said.

“We’ll treat Ascot with respect. They beat us quite comfortably when we played them away so we have a little bit of something to prove.”

Highworth will have forward TJ Bohane back available, as well as last week’s new additions from local rivals Shrivenham, Josh Fowler and Liam Edmondson.

“We’ve got good forwards anyway but TJ is one we look to get over the top, but we haven’t got anyone else with the pace that TJ has got, so Josh brings that if TJ isn’t available and he gives you another dimension.

“He can play wide left, he can play down the middle and I always like to have options.

“With Liam at the back, he is solid and gives us another body, so it is two great signings for the club really.

“We’ve got the Vase next Saturday and those two boys can’t play, so they’ll play against Ascot because I have got to try and keep everybody available for next Saturday.

“It is difficult but it is a problem most managers would love to have and I am fortunate to have it.”

Meanwhile, Shrivenham are still getting used to life without the pair but will be hoping to start a run of their own after claiming a point against Briscombe and Thrupp on Saturday.

Sam Collier’s side travel to Bracknell Town and will be hoping to lift themselves away from the foot of the table.

“It is a tough place to go and the lads that go to work will have to leave early and hope there is no traffic, but we’ll dust ourselves down and go again,” said Collier “I’m hoping to get some new players in. We have a couple of seven days running out this week so we’ll know more then.

“We have a little game plan that we are sticking to now and it seems to be working.”

Elsewhere, Fairford Town return to action for the rearranged clash with Carterton, with a win putting them level with their hosts.
