SWINDON Town Under 16s beat Trowbridge Town 6-0 to secure the Wiltshire County Cup at Stanley Park.

Swindon started sharply with Lauryn Abery opening the scoring after she burst through the Trowbridge defence to net.

Additional pressure from further corners resulted in the poor clearance, and Trowbridge concede an own goal.

Swindon began to produce their free flowing passing game to increase their lead to 3-0 with Abery bagging her second.

In the second half, Maghan Larkin made it 4-0 with a powerful left-footed strike from the edge of the area, before Kathryn Bach netted from colse range and then Mia Mugford completed the scoring with a stunning 25-yard lob.

Following the presentation of the Wiltshire Cup to the girls, the Wiltshire FA marked the occasion with further medals being awarded to the parents and sibling of Swindon Town late goalkeeper Rhiannon Brown, who tragically passed away in January.

n Swindon Spitfires put in a fine team performance but were unable to get the better of Swindon Town in the County Cup final.

The Spitfires started brightly against the FA Premier League South West Division One team as Morgan Whittaker, Katie Wadey and Hayley Huckin going close.

Town came out stronger in the second half and soon took the lead and then they doubled their lead 10 minutes from time before Swindon sealed the 3-0 cup success soon after.

n Spitfires Development Manager, Adam Wood, was filled with joy as his side pulled off a fantastic 6-5 win against Melksham Town Yellow.

Player-of-the-match Mya McKnight opened the scoring for Spitfires after being played through by Cara Costello, but that lead was short lived as Melksham restored parity.

Dani Granato put the Swindon side back into the lead before bagging her second to make it 3-1.

Melksham then netted on 21 and 34 minutes to make it 3-3 only for Costello to put Spitfires back in front two minutes later.

However, there was still time for Melksham to level on the stroke of half-time.

Emma Broughton made it 5-4 to Spitfires after she got on the end Victoria Parry's goal-kick and then she bagged her second in the 58th minute.

Melksham managed to set up a nervy finish when they pulled a goal back eight minutes from time.

n Swindon Spitfires Under 15s rounded of their Berkshire League campaign with a 6-2 home success over Caversham.

The visitors opened the scoring in the fourh minute but Lucy Goodright levelled for Spitfires soon after.

Lauren Clarke made it 2-1 with a fine strike, while Chole Mason sent the two sides in at half-time 3-1 up.

After the interval, Caversham pulled goal back after a mix-up in the Spitfires defence.

However, Mason then grabbed her second and then Helena Butcher added Spitfires fifth.

Spitfires rounded the game off after Brooke Stead controlled Butcher's cross and laid the ball to Natalie Goodright to fire home from just inside the box.

n Spitfires Under 14s claimed a 3-0 win over Bath City despite a slow start.

It them 20 minutes to open the scoring when Tamzin Davis headed home Lucy Scrannage's free-kick.

After the break, Sophie Hynd pounced on a miss-hit shot to double the advantage and then she added the third following a strong run.

n FC Abbey Meads Girls won the Berkshire Girls Under 14s Cup following a 7-0 success over Caversham at Thatcham Town.

Last week the girls also clinched the Division One title defeating last season's champions Didcot 6-0 with only 10 players.
