SWINDON Town Ladies Under 16s have completed a fantastic treble after adding the Oxfordshire League and Cup double to their Wiltshire FA Cup crown.

The cup final, at Thame, near Oxford, saw Swindon face league runners-up Kidlington and in the early stages, both teams impressed but it took a Kidlington shot rattling the Swindon crossbar to get Town going.

Swindon’s growing pressure resulted in a fine individual goal from Lauryn Abery.

Once ahead, Town quickly gained in confidence and a corner saw the ball run loose to full back Jessica Clements, who smashed home to double their lead.

Town continued to press and an own goal saw the lead stretched to 3-0.

The pace of Mia Mugford down the right flank had caused the opposition problems throughout and it paid off when another run provided an opportunity for Abery to add to her tally.

With Kidlington tiring, Abery completed her hat-trick following a goalmouth scramble to seal a 5-0 win.

After the final whistle, the parents of Town keeper Rhiannon Brown, who tragically passed away in January, were presented with the league and cup trophies.
