SWINDON Supermarine manager Dave Webb believes it will take a good team to knock his side out of their stride as they prepare to host second-placed Taunton Town tomorrow.

The Webb’s Wood Stadium side are currently on an unbeaten run of 11 games in Southern League South & West and are full of confidence having dispatched North Leigh last weekend.

However, Webb is aware that his team must match the high standard they set in Oxfordshire if they are to close the gap to Taunton to just two points.

“This group can go a long way,” said the Marine boss.

“They’re all big games but I am glad we stepped up another level to go to North Leigh and win.

“We just want to extend the run as long as we can.

“It is another massive test against Taunton but there is no reason why this team can’t go another lot of games unbeaten.

“The boys are enjoying their football so much and they don’t want the run to end.

“We’ll need to reach the levels of last weekend again if we are to beat Taunton because they are the form team.

“It is all the hard work that the coaches put in behind the scenes and it is great for the supporters, the committee, the chairman and it is great to see everyone enjoying the wins.

“When we do lose, which is inevitable, we need to bounce back as quickly as we can.

“At the moment, it is going to take a good team to stop us or we are going to have a bad day – hopefully it is a good team.”

Webb has admitted that Marine's unbeaten run has made his job easier as a manager and he has been impressed with the resolve his squad have shown having lost some key players in recent weeks.

“As a manager, you want your team to follow your principals and deliver what you are asking them to deliver,” he added.

“I want to play good attractive football and I want people to come to Supermarine and want to watch us. Everyone who watches at the moment are saying that we are playing well and I can’t ask for any more than that.

“We want to keep entertaining the people that come and watch the team and have people talking about the players – they gain confidence through that.

“There is a real good feel around the club at the moment and the way we are playing is credit to the players for all the hard work they are putting in.

“We’ve lost some high-profile players in the last few weeks. To lose Ashley Edenborough and Luke Hopper, and Luke Matthews has gone to the states; we have dealt well with that.

“It is a pretty young team that we have got and it is nice to see them doing so well.”
