FAIRFORD Town manager Gareth Davies is hoping to keep the pressure on the chasing pack when they play host to Letcombe this evening.

Having not had a league fixture for more than three weeks, Cheltenham Saracens and Carterton have been able to close the gap at the top of the Hellenic League Division One West table to just three points, with three games in hand.

However, Davies is not concerned by what is happening below them and will focus on getting three points tonight.

“We have just got to go and get the points that’s all we can do,” said the Cinder Lane boss.

“They are looking forward to the game and I think they’ll be ready for it and they know what is at stake.

“Letcombe are a much improved side and we have to be aware that they will come and try and cause us problems.

“We don’t need to worry about what is going on behind us and just do our job.”

Skipper Matt Boucher is a doubt for the game having pulled up injured after 20 minutes of training on Saturday.

However, new signing Ashley Edenborough could be in line for his debut to give the side a big boost.

“He is a massive goal threat and you don’t play in the Southern League for 10 years and score the goals that he has without having something about you,” added Davies.

“He will make a big impact, not only for the team but opposition might be more aware now.

“We’re happy to have him and I think for the younger lads it will do them a world of good to be playing with him.

“He will give everybody a bit of a lift and if he can help us get over the line then he will be a good signing.”
