SWINDON Supermarine J finally got back to Under 12 Division One action after several weeks with out a game and despite a below-par display beat Chippenham Town 3-1.

The first half was a scrappy affair on a heavy pitch, however Marine got their noses in front when Joah Hall rose to head home a corner.

Marine’s keeper and player of the match Josh Pickett pulled off a fine save to maintain his side’s lead before Josh Godwin robbed a Chippenham defender and drilled home from just inside the area. Luke Legg then scored direct from a corner as the hosts took a 3-0 lead into the interval.

Marine put in a lacklustre display in the second half and despite some more good work between the posts from Pickett, Chippenham pulled a goal back.

Under 13 Division Three

Lydiard Youth put in a fine display to beat leaders Abbey Meads 6-1.

Will Steckerl ensured his mini-goal drought was ended in spectacular fashion as he fired home four, while Jon Raggett and captain Jacob Jackson were also on target for the victors.

Under 14 Division 1

Highworth Town ran out 5-1 winners despite Lydiard taking a 1-0 half-time lead thanks a Danny Wade free-kick.

In the second half, Highworth went through the gears and levelled through Tyler Simmonds before Brandon Lewis added their second.

Harrison Jordan then struck twice before Connor Robb sealed the points.

Division 3

Lois Beer scored a stunning late goal to earn Northside Athletic Colts a 3-3 draw against Lydiard Youth.

Cory Adams opened the scoring for Colts before Lydiard replied just before half time. George Wilkins made it 2-1 before Lydiard scored twice. Beer, with her back to goal on the edge of the box, turned and fired a superb strike.

Under 15 Division 3

Ferndale ran out 4-1 winners over Swindon Youth thanks to a brace from Maciej Demidowicz, while Kieran Dodson and Dan O’Brien completed the scoring.

Under 17/18 Division 3

Aiden Bennett scored a second half equaliser for Highworth Town Juniors T in their 1-1 draw against Brinkworth Cats Red at the Rec.

Under 15 County Cup

Brandon Page, Dawid Osinski and Bailey Gallagher gave Ferndale a 3-0 lead at half time during their Wiltshire County Cup clash with Broad Town Colts.

Broad Town hit back in the second half with two goal to set-up a nervy finish, but Ferndale held on to book their place in the semi-final.
