SWINDON Spitfires U14s hit a perfect 10 in their emphatic victory over Tower Hill, who mustered just a solitary reply.

Spits started strongly and a cross from the right by Chloe Neate was headed home by Hannah Peachey after only four minutes.

The lead was two just a few minutes later as another cross was this time met by Aimee Prinzi, who drilled the ball into the left-hand corner of the net.

Little over 10 minutes had passed before Spits made it 3-0, with yet another cross causing problems for Tower Hill. This time, Georgia Miller was on hand to finish with her left foot.

Tower began to settle and held out until the 22nd minute before conceding again, with Spits getting their fourth goal through Prinzi.

Jasmin Hindon then got in on the act to make it 5-0 but Tower got themselves on the scoresheet before half-time when they pulled one back through Millie Hartwell.

Spits made some changes in the second half but they still snaffled a sixth goal after only five more minutes, Lani Dickinson finding the net after a long-range shot by Neate was only parried by the Tower Hill keeper.

Dickinson then got her second with a tap-in before Neate scored a goal of her own when she drove the ball from far out on the right straight over the keeper’s head.

There were a couple of hat-tricks before the final whistle, with Dickinson the first to strike to make it 9-0 before Prinzi finished off a treble of her own with six minutes remaining, capping Spits’ lot from a Neate corner.

Elsewhere, three Spits sides were in cup semi-finals over the weekend, with all tasting success to reach their respective finals.

The U11s got the ball rolling courtesy of a 2-1 win over Derry Hill –Alana Hunt got both goals.

The U13s' match was even closer as they went all the way to penalties after a 4-4 draw against Bath. Kimberley Jackson got a hat-trick, with Lilly Puffet also on target in normal time, before Spits held their nerve in the shoot-out.

Success was not just reserved for the junior teams, with the ladies’ Swindon Spitfires United Side reached a cup final of their own with a 2-1 win over Laverstock & Ford.

Mel Bristow and Claire Moreton were the goalscorers.
