SWINDON Supermarine boss Dave Webb will be ringing the changes this weekend as his side face two “pivotal” games in their push for a play-off spot in Evo-Stik League Southern Division One South & West.

Marine face the league’s basement club Bashley, who have managed just two points all season, tomorrow afternoon before travelling to Mangotsfield United on Easter Monday.

Webb says he wants the full six points from the weekend and no long-term injuries as he prepares for the final few league games and hopefully a spot in the play-offs.

“I am looking at the weekend in its entirety,” he said.

“These are two pivotal games for us if we can win both, the sides around us have difficult games, and we will strengthen our position.

“It’s important we keep people fresh, there will be some changes but that’s me trying to get the best from the squad over these two games.

“We have a 17-man group who all should be fit.

“A few have heavy colds so we will have to see how they are but every player in the squad is there for a reason and they will play their part.”

Supermarine’s opponents conceded 11 goals against Taunton on Tuesday night, while Supermarine have had a full week to prepare for their busy Easter schedule.

Bashley haven’t won a single league game this season and anything other than a convincing success on Saturday will be a major surprise to fans at the Webb’s Wood Stadium.

But Webb, who wants to see an improvement on his side’s performance against Burnfield last weekend, says the three points is an absolute must.

“I am not worried about how many goals we score, it’s about overall performance and coming through without any injuries,” added Webb.

“We desperately need to win the game and win it well.

“It’s vital we don’t slip up, pick up no injuries and try to keep everyone as fresh as we can.

“Whatever we do, whether we win 1-0 or it’s five or six, it’s about winning the game.

“We were not at our fluent best last Saturday but we kept a clean sheet and got the win.”
