SWINDON Supermarine slipped to sixth in the Evo-Stik League Southern Division One South & West as they were beaten 1-0 by Mangotsfield United this afternoon.

With leaders Cinderford drawing against Shortwood, the opportunity was there for Dave Webb's side to push themselves right towards the summit of the table.

Instead though, Ben Bament's 21st-minute goal condemned the Wiltshire visitors to a seventh league defeat of the season as they dropped a place in the table.

Mangotsfield had already had the ball in the net earlier in the contest, but the strike was ruled out for offside, while Josh Parsons headed straight at the keeper and Connor Waldon had a shot saved either side of Bament's winner.

Brad Gray and Waldon had further chances after the break but Marine were unable to find their way through the Mangoes' rearguard.

Chippenham Town boss Mark Collier admits his side need a spark to reignite their Premier Division promotion challenge after a late winner from Cirencester Town stretched the Bluebirds' run without a win to a sixth match.

Town, who lost a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 at play-off rivals Leamington on Saturday, were stunned in injury time of their clash at Hardenhuish Park as Adam Connolly netted the only goal of the game.

Collier offered no excuses for his side's "poor'' performance afterwards and added: "We need to snap out of this as quickly as we can because we are not in good form.

"Everyone needs to look at themselves and that includes me as well as the players.''

Highworth Town completed a miserable day on manager John Fisher's long farewell to the club as they were upset 3-2 at home by bottom side Wokingham & Emmbrook in the Hellenic League Premier Division.

The Worthians were behind early on to a Jake Wheeler goal and then conceded a second to the basement boys' Elliott Rushforth.

Callum Parsons hammered home to pull one back for the home side before half time and the comeback was complete after it as Ryan King equalised.

However, Wokingham snatched a third goal to make it a disappointing afternoon for Fisher, who leaves the club at the end of the season.
