A HAT-TRICK from Kierren Robins-Kidby was enough to inflict a first defeat of the campaign on Uruguay Sociedad as DH Fitness completed a 4-1 win in Division Three.

Having fallen to a 7-2 reverse in the corresponding fixture just two weeks ago, revenge was on the cards and Robins-Kidby’s first goals of the season proved to be the difference.

Having soaked up the early pressure, Robins-Kidby caught the hosts on the break to open the scoring.

Robins-Kidby netted his second of the game just before the break to leave DH Fitness in a commanding position.

When player-manager Mitchell Singh was brought down in the box in the second half, Robins-Kidby was handed the responsibility from the spot to secure his hat-trick.

Uruguay continued to put pressure on and got a goal back with 10 minutes to go but with the home side pushing numbers forward, Robins-Kidby turned provider and Luke Hiscock had an open goal to score.

“It was an absolutely fantastic result,” said Singh.

“Uruguay are comfortably the best team in the league and we just seemed to click and take our chances this weekend.

“The kind of mentality we have got in the team at the moment is quite strong and as soon as we got that fourth it killed the game.

“It was funny because Kierren scored a hat-trick and he hadn’t scored this season and he is kind of our fun player, he is not our most technical player, but he was fantastic on the day.

“It was a good game of football because both teams like to play football rather than route one football.

“We’re as good as DPR and Uruguay but we were losing to the teams lower in the league and that cost us.”

Meanwhile, Woodlands Edge inflicted more pain on basement side AFC Wedge with a 7-1 victory, while Chiseldon Sunday lifted themselves away from the bottom two with a 5-2 win over Moovahome.

However, Walcot can still catch the leaders following a 4-1 victory over SKS Blyskawica, but their inferior goal difference means they need to make up 14 goals in their remaining three games.

West Swindon Wanderers remain on track to lift the Division Two title as they secured a 5-1 win over Wanborough.

Shrivenham Sunday can still catch the leaders with three games to go after they beat Cleeve Tech 30, while G Power Solutions were 8-1 victors over FS Swindon.
