SEVERAL of Fairford Town’s Supplementary Cup-winning squad have pledged their future to the club.

From the start of July, clubs are able to register their players with the Hellenic League and manager Gareth Davies has already secured the signatures of a host of last season’s squad.

Goalkeeper Ben Mitchell has joined defenders Aaron Dainton and Scott Chilcott at the early sessions whilst in midfield, the long-serving Matt Boucher and last season’s recruit Sam Mepham have both been a part of pre-season training so far along with the likes of Luke Cordery and Jason Milhench.

Strikers Danny Hale and Jack Ellis – who hit 27 goals between them last term – have also put pen to paper.

Sam Ockwell is the first new signing of the summer and his registration has been secured.

Pre-season training continues on Monday evening at Cinder Lane with a 7pm start.

Fairford kick off their pre-season campaign next Saturday when they face newly-formed Cricklade Town.

ROYAL Wootton Bassett’s Ladies side are holding an open training session tomorrow.

The session takes place on the 3G pitch at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground between 2-3.30pm and is open to players aged 14 and over.

The club is seeking new and experienced players to join both its adult ladies team, who play in the Gloucestershire County Women’s League Division One on Sundays, as well for the new U16 Girls side.

Anyone interested is free to turn up, or for more information contact ladies manager Becky Gammon by email beckygammon@googlemail.com or call 07825 336479.
