NORTHSIDE Athletic started the Under 15 Division One season in fine style by beating last year’s cup winners, FC Chippenham, 7-2.

Athletic scored three times before half-time, with Edrin Asante on target on debut and Kain Chivers netting twice.

The next four goals were shared between the teams as Brandon Lewis and Ben Dodd got Northside’s efforts, before Lewis and Ben Paul finished off the scoring.

UNDER 15 DIVISION TWO

A SLOW start was costly for Northside Athletic as they were made to pay for conceding two quick goals in a 5-4 defeat at Robins.

Calum Lansley pulled one back just before half-time and although efforts from Corey Adams (two) and Tom Brewster kept the game close after the break, Robins held on for win.

It was honours even between Highworth Town Juniors and Ramsbury Juniors in a 3-3 draw.

Despite long periods of possession, Highworth rarely troubled the Ramsbury keeper and the score remained goalless at half-time.

Jack Smith struck twice to put Highworth in control but Ramsbury pulled one back. Smith went on to complete his hat-trick but Ramsbury did not roll over and wrestled back a point with two goals of their own.

UNDER 11 DIVISION ONE

LUKE Legg struck twice as Swindon Supermarine J kicked off the season with a 3-1 win over Croft Blue.

Man of the match Harry Johnson put Marine ahead, slotting home inside the box after a neat flick-on by Legg. James Hurst then saw a shot tipped onto the post by the home keeper, while Josh Hall and Legg both shot wide.

As the half drew to a close there were further chances for Hall, Johnson and Rhys Ward but Marine had to settle for a slender 1-0 lead.

The visitors were hit with a sucker-punch after the break as Croft equalised when a player rose highest to meet a free-kick.

It did not take long for the visitors to get back in front when a great through ball by Ward fed Legg to run in and smash home.

Marine were in command and Legg soon found himself homing in on goal again to seal the win.

UNDER 12 DIVISION 4

ROYAL Wootton Bassett Yellows produced a five-star display to thrash Wroughton Whites 5-1 in their season opener.

Alex Roberts’ double and Benjamin King made it 3-0 at half-time, while Bassett also started the second period well as Daniel Makin added a fourth.

Wroughton continued to battle on and got their rewards with a consolation, although King had the last word with his second goal.

UNDER 14 DIVISION 1

HIGHWORTH Town Juniors T got the campaign off to a winning start with a 6-4 win at home to Lydiard Millicent Juniors T.

The Worthians romped 5-1 clear at the break thanks to goals from debutants Andy Smith (three) and Jack Wilmot, as well as a 40-yard screamer from Harvey Renouf. Thomas Harris added a sixth in the second period.
