MANAGER Justin Miller says Purton cannot afford to be overawed by Cirencester Town Development’s free-scoring form this weekend.

Miller’s men make the short trip to the Corinium Stadium to take on a side who plundered eight goals last time out.

Purton enjoyed a confidence boost themselves in their last fixture by collecting a first win in five and boss Miller hopes that can count for something against Ciren.

“We have got to look to build on the momentum from last week. It was a good result and we played well. We kept a clean sheet, scored a goal and won the game, so that’s really all you can ask,” said Miller.

“We’ve kept two clean sheets in a row and that’s massive. The fewer goals you concede, then the more chance you have got of winning the game.

“This week is going to be tough as they scored eight in the last game, so we know they are going to be dangerous.

“There isn’t any fear but the players just need to keep their concentration. It’s important that we defend from the front and don’t let any sloppy mistakes creep in.

“If we do that, then we should be able to match up to them quite well and we have to look to go there with a positive attitude.”

Marcus Hall, Aaron Stevens and Peter McGunigall are all unavailable for Purton this weekend.

“Marcus has been with us for a while now and Aaron is our captain so there’s some good experience missing there,” said Miller.

“Marcus missed last week too but even so, it’s still two or three important players that we are without so it will be felt.”

Shrivenham will look to carry their strong league form into the Hellenic Challenge Cup when they make the trip to Woodley United.
