JUSTIN Miller is confident Purton can build on last weekend’s win over Letcombe when they host Woodtstock Town at the weekend.

If Miller’s men are to claim another victory, they would need to do it without assistant Paul Hunt and defender Kieran Diaz-Benitez as the duo have joined Cirencester Town in the Southern League.

Miller stated that despite being sad to lose the pair, he has no hard feelings towards either and didn’t want to hold them back.

“When we signed him (Diaz-Benitez) he was an Oxford United scholar. He’s a young lad and he has a big future in the game,” said the Purton boss.

“They (Cirencester) were after a right back so he went and played Tuesday night and did very well by all accounts.

“It’s a good opportunity for Paul too, he is very good at what he does and he is a very good coach. It’s a chance to go and put a stamp on it and you don’t want to hold people back.”

As the search for Hunt’s replacement continues, Miller remains positive ahead of the clash with Woodstock.

“We can get three points. We played well in patches last Saturday so our good form has continued, we just need to carry on with what we are doing at the moment,” he said.

“We just need to be a bit more clinical. When we get the opportunities, we need to make sure we take them. That’s the only thing which has been lacking.”

Elsewhere, New College have another tough trip this weekend when they visit third-placed Fairford Town, while Shrivenham travel to North Berks Division One side Saxton Rovers in the Berks and Bucks Intermediate Cup.
