A TRIO of goals was enough for Ramsbury as they defeated North Swindon WMC 3-0 at home in the Premier Division.

A Georgian Raduledscu goal got the home side moving, before Max Derrick's double sealed the win in the second half.

Ramsbury boss Sean Evill was more than happy with the result, which has lifted his team into fourth place in the early standings.

“It was a good weekend. It was a great game and a win that we needed because we lost in the cup so it was good to get our confidence back,” said the Ramsbury boss “It was a really physical game in the first half. North Swindon are a pretty hard side, we were a little bit intimidated.

“The first half finished 0-0 but we came out in the second half with a different attitude and managed to get three goals.

“The first goal was from George (Raduledscu), which was a lovely goal from the outside of his right foot.

“Max (Derrick) scored our second goal, it was set up by Adam Elmer when he squared it for him to finish right-footed and the third was a penalty, when Max turned on the defender and got caught.”

Deers Leap also claimed all three points with a routine 2-0 win away at Bassett Bulldogs, with Ashton Glover and Nathan Gambling notching.

Despite Ricky Hewitson and Sam Bailey both scoring twice, Swindon Centurians were unable to prevent a defeat as they lost 5-4 to Sportz Central.

Swindon Spitfires remain at the top of the table after claiming a hard-fought point against FC Dorcan. Joshua Ukoha (2) and Sean Light scored for the hosts, with Jake Kitchin (2) and Adam Wooley getting the visitors’ goals.

Spectrum also claimed a point after playing out a 2-2 draw away to Village Inn thanks to goals from Craig Kelly and Damian DeBono.

Elsewhere in Division One, Lower Stratton romped to a 7-2 win over Swindon AFC, which has seen them climb up to fourth place.

Old Town United put in a five-star performance away to Chiseldon in an emphatic 5-0 triumph. Arron Williams Ashley Bragg, Stephen Lowe all notched, while Lee Hayward led the way with two.

Adam Law, Tom Goodey and Paul Stevens were all on hand to earn Moredon a 3-1 win over Stratton Juniors.

New Town All Stars held Lyneham to a 3-3 draw, with Adam Burston’s double and Adam Blackman’s effort enough to earn a point for the hosts.
