AYSA Corrick struck twice this evening to fire Highworth Town into the second round of the FA Vase at the third time of asking.
The Worthians edged out AC London 2-1 at the Elms in tonight’s first round replay, a week after the first re-running of the fixture was abandoned. The original tie between the two sides back on October 29 ended in a 3-3 draw.
Corrick put Jeff Roberts’ side ahead at the break, heading home the rebound after he saw a penalty saved by the AC goalkeeper midway through the first half.
He doubled Highworth’s lead just after the hour mark and although the visitors pulled a goal back in the closing stages to set up a tense finale, Roberts’ men held on.
Highworth will now host Combined Counties League side Knaphill in the second round on November 12.
