SWINDON Supermarine manager Dave Webb believes his side have the odds stacked against them as they prepare to face Chippenham Town in the Wiltshire Senior Cup.

Marine are struggling for form at the moment as they are without a win in five, following their 4-0 defeat at Bideford at the weekend.

Webb is under no illusions that tonight’s cup tie will be a tough task with the Bluebirds going well in the Southern League Premier Division.

“It doesn’t get much tougher, they’re sat second in the league and they are going for promotion,” said the Supermarine manager.

“The quality they’ve got is there to see. They’ve got Dave Pratt and Andy Sandell in their team and that is a strike force to fear.

“We’ve conceded a lot of goals in the last few games and we couldn’t have a tougher test, it’s a game we’ll look forward to, it’s a derby in the Wilts Senior Cup.”

Despite the obvious challenge that lies ahead of them, Webb insists his team will try to go out and win the game.

“We are playing a side from the next league up, we should be relishing that opportunity to play a team like that, I’m looking forward to it,” added Webb.

“It doesn’t come much tougher than Chippenham, all the players they’ve got are good players and they’re a strong side.

“It’s a big test and the only way you get out of a bad run of form is to work hard and try to win the next game, which is what we will try and do.”

If Supermarine are to overcome Mark Collier’s side they will have to do it without Josh Parsons, who picked up his second red card of the season at the weekend.
