JUSTIN Miller has set his sights on six points from Purton’s next two games as he looks to capitalise on their fine run of form.

Purton are on a six-match unbeaten sequence in Hellenic League Division One West and have climbed up to fifth in the table.

After four wins in a row, Miller’s men have drawn their last two league fixtures, most recently at top-of-the-table Fairford Town last weekend.

The Red House outfit shared the spoils with third-placed Cirencester Town Development before then so Miller will head into Saturday’s showdown at home to Milton United high in confidence.

“Things are going quite well and the moment. We are in good form and hopefully we can continue that,” said Miller.

“It’s about what we do in the next game now to make sure we make the most of the results we’ve had already.

“They are tough games when you play sides towards the top of the table but on chances created, we were disappointed not to end up on the winning side in the last few games.

“It’s swings and roundabouts as we got a late goal to get a point against Cirencester, although we shouldn’t have been in that position to begin with.

“Having won four and then drawn the next two, it puts the emphasis on trying to get three points again in the next game.

“If we can win a couple more games and you end up looking at an eight-game run where you’ve won them all bar two, which were both draws, it’s only four points dropped and that’s a pretty good effort by anyone’s standards.”

Purton will face an unknown quantity this weekend as Milton are one of the few sides they have not played yet this term, although Miller is keen to keep the focus on his own team.

“I imagine they will go into it with a pretty similar attitude to ourselves. They’ve won a few and they’ve lost a few and they are doing okay,” said Miller.

“Having played most people already, we know what to expect of ourselves and if we play like we can do, then we should be able to get something out of it, and I am sure they will be saying the same thing.”
