STEVE Robertson realises his Swindon Town Ladies side may be struggling for confidence as they head to Bromley to take on Crystal Palace Ladies.

Last time out Robertson’s team were knocked out of the FA Women’s Cup in a 2-0 defeat at Southampton.

“They’re all tricky games at the moment, we get no respite at the minute and confidence isn’t exactly high” said the manager.

“We need to go back to getting the performances right again. We have previously gone there (Palace) and won.

“We have to take that as a positive going into it, hopefully we can get some team spirit back after this week.”

Robertson believes if his side are to claim a win at the weekend they will need to go back to basics.

“At the weekend we had more than enough chances to win the game but they (Southampton) had two chances and scored two goals,” added Robertson.

“When it’s not going for you, it’s not going for you, we are trying to adapt to the league we are playing in instead of doing what we have done in the past.

“We have to go and stick to our own game plan. I’d rather we did that and come unstuck on our terms than do it on anybody else’s.”

As they approach the end of the year, Robertson reflected on what has been a transitional period of him and his team.

“We are almost starting from scratch we’ve had a very large player turnover, the girls are adapting well to the new level,” he said.

“It takes a lot of time, it will click eventually and we’ll find the right formula but it might take us another three or four games.

“We have nine league games left, the three big ones from that are Wet Ham Ladies twice and QPR who are the two team’s below us.

Going into the game Robertson has no fresh injury concerns to worry about, as they look to name an unchanged squad for the trip.
