SWINDON Supermarine will be looking to go one better than their draw last time out as they prepare to claim all three points against Wantage Town.

Dave Webb’s side are currently unbeaten in their last seven outings, but the Supermarine manager believes this afternoon’s game is still one they must win.

“It’s a game which is all about focus and making sure whoever plays are focussed on the way we play,” said Webb.

“Having drawn the last two games, it’s now a game we have to win, we want to keep the run going, it would be nice to go to eight games.

“Three points are vital for us on Monday. We are in sixth position, but if we want to maintain the challenge we need to win.”

Despite Wantage sitting at the bottom of the table with nine points to their name, Webb still wants the same level of performance and preparation from his players.

“These games are about preparation. I have to trust my players, if they play to the levels we are capable of we should win the game,” he added “If we don’t then there could be an upset. We dropped points against North Leigh on Boxing Day, we should have won.

“They did quite well in their last game against Didcot but lost the game late on, it won’t be easy.”

In an attempt to turn their season around, Wantage have brought in Ben Sadler as manager after Stuart Cattell stood down before Christmas.

Regardless of the new manager, Webb insists he still knows what to expect from the league strugglers when they travel to Oxfordshire.

“If you look at the form book you can see they’re not in a good place and we are unbeaten in seven, even though we have drawn the last two,” said the Marine manager.

“The form suggests it’s a game we are going to win but the reality of that is far different, they’ve just got a new manager in and new players.

“They’re going to try and scrap their way out of trouble and stay in the league, that is exactly what they are in, a scrap.

“I know what to expect, it’s never an easy ground to go to so it’s a tricky place, conditions will be difficult I’m sure.”
