FC ABBEY Meads U14 were crowned champions of Division Four following their 4-1 win over Marlborough Youth.

In a scrappy first half, Abbey Meads took a 1-0 lead into the break thanks to a goal from Ollie Reynolds.

Reynolds doubled the lead after the interval with his second of the match before Josh Pai added a third following some impressive midfield play from Joe McGrogon.

Marlborough pulled a goal back with 15 minutes remaining, however, Reynolds went on to complete his hat-trick and seal the title for Abbey Meads with a long-range chip.

Division One

HIGHWORTH Town Juniors T slipped to their first defeat of 2017 as they lost 3-1 at home to Castle Combe Colts.

Highworth’s Josh Wright was the busier of the two keepers and a late penalty from Thomas Harris gave the hosts a brief glimmer of hope but it was not enough.

U13 Division Two

FC ABBEY Meads Strikers bounced back from their defeat to Purton with a 3-0 victory over Pewsey Vale Youth.

Strikers controlled the game and Brandon Ricketts pulled off some fine saves to keep a clean sheet, while Ashley Marsh, Ian Deffor and Trese Cham also impressed.

Marsh opened the scoring for Abbey Meads before a Jack Long header gave them a 2-0 lead at the break.

In the second half, Dejan Broja played in Ricardo Neto to seal the win and lift Strikers up to third in the table.

U17/18 Division One

A 3-0 victory over FC Chippenham moved leaders FC Abbey Meads Colts closer to the league title.

The win, their 11th in 13 matches, came courtesy of goals from Mason Lach, Matthew Grabe and Kyle Chambers and moved them 12 points clear of Fairford Town Youth.
