DIVISION Two pacesetters Rodbourne Real returned to action by churning out their 10th win of the season with a 5-2 victory over Your Sport Swindon.

The weekend clash was Rodbourne’s first game in a month after a series of their fixtures were postponed due to the weather.

That reflected in their performance as Jon Reeves’ side went 2-0 down in the first half, before a second-half hat-trick from Richard Wells and a brace from Jerome Dodson put them back on track, much to the manager’s delight.

“We didn’t really get going at all, we just had a month off and it looked like we haven’t had a game in a month as well,” said Reeves.

“Then we scored really well in the second half. It was a bit of a strange game really we should have been three or four down in the first half.”

However DPR are hot on their tails as they registered a 4-0 away win at Chilli Shak, a result that leaves them five points behind Real, with two games in hand.

Fairford Town Sunday failed to make the most of home comforts as they came undone against DH Fitness in a 3-1 defeat.

Wanborough’s search for a win will continue as they lost 8-3 to Woodlands Edge, who have now moved up to sixth.

Division One side FC Walcot claimed another big win as they moved up to third in the league standings after a 7-1 triumph against Penhill United.

The only other game which took place in the first division was Greyhound’s 1-0 win over Deers Leap as they claimed top spot, one point above AFC Gas.

In Division Three, Haydon further stretched their advantage at the top with a 6-1 win at home to Croft Junior, while Eldene lost by the same scoreline to Purton Freshbrook.

Willowgreen Hotspur edged to victory in their fixture against Stratton Saints in a narrow 4-3 win.

Division Four had just one game which beat the elements as Smart Movers wrapped up all three points in a 5-2 away win at PSV Swindon.

In Division Five, there were a trio of league fixtures, with Northern Lights losing their 10th game of the season as they were beaten 4-2 by Cricklade Park Rangers.

Table-toppers Purton Redhouse continued their good run of form with a 7-3 victory against Sevenfields United and Swindon Rovers lost 4-3 at home to Paxton House United.

Several other sides were involved in Bunny Uzzell Memorial Shield games at the weekend.

The highlight came from Division Five side Highworth Town Sunday, who turned over Division Four’s Chisledon Sunday with a thumping 7-0 win.

AFC Cricklade made their superiority clear when they too claimed a 7-0 win at the hands of Rudis.

Coleshill Youth and Nationwide both also progressed with 4-1 and 4-2 wins over Crown and Save on Tyres respectively.
