SWINDON Town Ladies face another vital clash in their bid to avoid relegation from the FA Women’s Premier League tomorrow.

Steve Robertson’s side take on fellow strugglers West Ham United for the second game in a row, travelling to Thurrock’s Ship Lane ground in Essex (kick-off 2pm) for a showdown that could go a long way to determining which side finishes in the bottom two come the end of the season.

Currently, Town are only ahead of the second-bottom Irons by virtue of their superior goal difference and on February 26, late heartbreak denied Robertson’s team the chance to put some daylight between themselves and the Londoners.

First-half goals from Michelle Rich and Chyna Collings had put Swindon 2-0 up at Shrivenham’s Barrington Park but West Ham roared back in the second period, with Molly Peters halving the deficit before Whitney Locke struck a 87th-minute equaliser.

With four games to go, Town are also due to meet Coventry United, C&K Basildon and bottom-of-the-table Queens Park Rangers.

West Ham, meanwhile, have a tougher run-in on paper – they play Lewes and fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur twice.
