FAIRFORD Town boss Gareth Davies admits he hasn’t had time to take in the magnitude of his side’s Division One West title achievement as he surveys the prospect of a limb-aching seven days, starting next week.

The Cinder Lane side wrapped up the league title on Tuesday evening courtesy of a 5-0 success over Milton United but with potentially two more pieces of silverware up for grabs, there is little time for relaxation for Davies’ troops.

Town are already through to the final of the Gloucestershire FA Challenge Trophy against Bristol side Cadbury Heath and host Henley Town in the quarter-finals of the Bluefin Sport Hellenic Supplementary Cup next Thursday.

Two days prior to that, they travel to Clanfield 85 in the league, with their final two matches in that competition following next Saturday and Monday with trips to Milton United and local rivals Shrivenham.

Success against Henley would also add another semi final commitment to the calendar, all of which has left Davies’ with little time to reflect on his side’s superb league triumph.

“I don’t think it’s really sunk in yet,’’ said Davies. “With four games in seven days coming up from Tuesday, from a management point of view we haven’t had the time to think about it.

“To get one trophy is good, but to be in with a chance of three is a credit to the players.

“The aim was to get out of the league - that was the job. Whatever happens from now is something of a bonus for us, but we want success.

“With the amount of games we have to play, it’s up to us, the management, to not be silly enough to put the same team out for each.

“We’re playing Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Monday and if we go well in the (Supplementary) cup there’s the potential for a semi-final there too, so we’ll want to give the lads a bit of a break where possible.

“There will be a lot of rotation and trying to keep players fresh as we can. I’m glad now that we’ve got a pretty big squad and we’ll be using it over the next few matches.’’
