HIGHWORTH Town booked their place in the preliminary round of the FA Cup as Ash Edenborough's hat-trick wrapped up a 4-2 triumph in their extra preliminary round replay at London Colney.

Jeff Roberts' side, held to a 2-2 draw at home on Saturday, made the long journey east worth it as they wrapped up a tie in the next round against Southern League Marlow a week on Saturday.

Edenborough opened the scoring after 12 minutes and the same player notched his second after a Mitch Coombes effort was saved eight minutes before the break.

It was 3-1 within four minutes of the interval as Edenborough completed his treble and although the hosts twice responded, Tom Cole wrapped up his side's progress with 20 minutes left.

Fairford Town bowed out of the competition as they were defeated 5-1 in their replay at Longlevens AFC in Gloucester.

The visitors took the lead as Jason Milhench capitalised on a defensive mix-up to fire Town into the lead.

However, goals from Dave Merrick and Brad Martin put the hosts in front at the interval and another Merrick strike made it 3-1 just after the break.

Jay Kennedy netted a fourth in just over 10 minutes remaining and Longlevens adds a fifth late on.
