CALLUM Parsons 86th-minute penalty secured Highworth Town's progress in the Wiltshire Senior Cup tonight after a 2-1 victory over Wessex League Downton.
The Worthians, leaders of the Hellenic League Premier Division, trailed to a penalty just after half-time but Parsons equalised with a free-kick 11 minutes from time then fired home from another set-piece to seal the win.
Wiltshire League Bassett Bulldogs were comprehensively tamed as Southern League Salisbury smashed 13 unanswered goals past them in their first-round tie.
Wiltshire League leaders Wroughton lost 4-3 to Laverstock & Ford, after conceding two goals in the final 10 minutes.
Malmesbury Victoria are out after a 2-0 defeat at Toolstation League rivals Calne Town while Swindon Supermarine’s clash with Ludgershall Sports was called off with the Wiltshire League side unable to raise a team.
