MATT Bennett notched a second successive treble as leaders Cricklade Town hit Purton for six on Saturday.

The table-toppers retained their position with some comfort, Reece Gilliver, Devan Bryan and Oliver Sly also on target as Purton were whipped 6-1.

Former leaders Melksham Town Reserves remain hot on their heels, however, as they edged out their Corsham Town counterparts by a single strike via Seth Wain at Oakfields.

The top two in the Premier Division have clear daylight between themselves and the rest of the chasing pack after third-placed Shrewton United crashed 5-3 at Kintbury Rangers.

Charlie Allsop scored twice for the winners, Garth Franklin, with Luke Johnson and Shaun Thorp also on target for Kintbury.

Westbury United Reserves found their scoring boots in style as they hammered Pewsey Vale Development 8-1.

Ferris Lamrabet and Martin Johnson both scored twice, while George Bendle, Sean Brereton, Jordan Pinder and Joe Maloney also notched for the Westbury United outfit.

Bassett Bulldogs pulled off only their second win of the season – and their first for 13 games in all competitions – as Jason Hudson’s sixth goal of the season proved enough to edge out Trowbridge Town.

However, it is Marlborough Town who are the ones in red-hot form at the moment, after they won their fifth successive match with a 2-1 home success against strugglers Bremhill.

Two goals from Aaron Presley, the first of them from the penalty spot, gave Marlborough the advantage.

And despite Serkan Killic netting 10 minutes from time for the visitors, Bremhill were unable to get back on level terms.

Devizes Town Reserves claimed a 2-1 victory over Ludgershall Sports, with Ben Jenks geting both of their goals, either side of a Ludgershall leveller.

Defences were on top in the contest between Malmesbury Victoria Development and Royal Wootton Bassett Town Development, who shared a goalless draw.
