CALLUM Parsons turned in a five-star solo performance to fire Highworth Town into the semi-finals of the Wiltshire Senior Cup this evening, grabbing all of his side’s goals in a thrilling 5-2 success away at near neighbours Royal Wootton Bassett Town.

Jeff Roberts’ side were twice forced to come from behind at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground in an even first half before eventually seeing off their Hellenic League Premier Division rivals with a dominant display after the interval.

The teams did not take long to get going as Bassett broke the deadlock in just the fifth minute through Gio Wrona, only for Highworth to hit back almost instantly as Parsons levelled the scores with his first goal of the night.

There was still less than 20 minutes on the clock when the third goal went in, with Bassett regaining the initiative when Lewis Waldon hit the back of the net for Rich Hunter's hosts.

The Worthians’ response was swift again, though, and Parsons lashed home a second equaliser to send the two teams into the interval with the score all-square.

Highworth were the first to strike in the second half, with Parsons on hand to complete his hat-trick just six minutes after the restart.

After a frantic first 50 minutes, the game then went quiet for half-an-hour but Parsons was the man to kick it back to life again as he grabbed two more goals from the penalty spot in the closing stages.

Chippenham Town also booked their place in the semi-finals with a 3-1 victory over their own reserve side, Chippenham Park, in the last eight.
