FC ABBEYMEADS Rangers U8s will be donning a shiny new kit thanks to national five-star housebuilder Bellway.

All eight members of the Rangers team have been kitted out with new home kits and waterproof jackets after Bellway sponsored the team.

The FA Charter Standard club is based in Lydiard Millicent, and plays its home games at Lydiard Park.

The club currently runs teams for all ages from youth development teams to senior football for boys and girls and over 200 children are currently registered with the club, making it one of the largest youth football clubs in Wiltshire.

Coach Keith Angell said: “We’re very grateful for Bellway’s support and the team are absolutely loving their new kit. We previously had an old club kit, but the new kit looks really smart so it has come at a good time for us.

“Since the club was formed in 2003, we’ve expanded fairly rapidly and now have teams at all age groups. Everybody involved is a volunteer, and the club is not run for profit, so any sponsorship we receive through donations and subs is all invested back into the club.

“The whole aim of the club is to make sure we are providing opportunities for everybody to play football, not just the gifted few. Grassroots football relies on the support of companies like Bellway to help us give the kids the best chances to take up and enjoy the sport and we’d like to thank them for their kind sponsorship.”

Sales manager for Bellway’s South West division, Rachel Way, said: FC Abbeymeads is a fantastic example of people working together to provide a great environment for children to make new friends, learn about teamwork and stay healthy at the same time.”
