ADIE Mings has been pleased by the way his Chippenham Town players have applied themselves to their Southern League Premier Division campaign so far, and hopes that attitude will continue to translate itself into positive results.
Although far from completely satisfied, Mings has appreciated the work put in by his squad and says that it is only a matter of time before they start firing on all cylinders - with Bashley the first potential victims this weekend.
“Once we hit our stride and get our fitness together, I feel we’ll go on and start dominating sides,” he said.
“But we probably need to work 10 per cent harder than we did last year.
“I like our attitude, our resilience and our work ethic.
“The start to the season has been alright - we could probably have done with a few more wins than draws but I’m sure that a lot of managers are saying that at this moment in time.”
Bashley have yet to win at home this season, drawing two and losing one of their opening three fixtures, whilst the Bluebirds are undefeated on the road.
That bodes well for Mings’ side, who sneaked a 1-1 draw with Salisbury City on Bank Holiday Monday to ensure their unbeaten record remained intact, and vice-captain Scott Lye says the mood in the camp remains upbeat ahead of tomorrow’s clash.
“We’re still unbeaten and hopefully we can start turning those draws into winds, especially at home,” he said.
“We’ll keep on working hard and it should pay off.”
ELSEWHERE in the Southern League Premier, Brian Hughes takes his Cirencester Town side to Salisbury City.
Ciren are looking to bounce back from their 2-1 home defeat to Supermarine on Bank Holiday Monday.
