WILTSHIRE moved into the semi-finals of the FA County Youth Cup with a 2-1 victory over Worcestershire.
Wiltshire kicked into a strong wind in the first half at Swindon Supermarine, but had the lead after only 10 minutes when captain Joe Shepherd latched onto a ball on the edge of the penalty box and hit a rocket of a shot straight into the top corner.
Worcestershire looked to hit back quickly and a deflected shot by Oliver Butler flew just past the post.
The home side almost doubled their lead with 10 mintues to go in the first half when Ryan Campbell and Josh Moore went close.
After the break Wiltshire looked much the better side with the wind at their backs, and kept the ball on the ground with some nice attractive football. Ben Whickens went close twice and Shepherd had a host of efforts on goal.
In the 80th minute, Wiltshire won a corner on the left which Worcestershire failed to clear, and Josh Morse beat a defender and shot past the keeper making it 2-0 to Wiltshire.
Worcestershire grabbed one back to set up a nervy finish, but Wiltshire saw the game out to secure a semi final place where they will play the winners of the Middlesex v Essex tie.in the match 2-1.
