SUPERMARINE boss Dave Webb will tonight seek clarification on the future of his squad members as he aims to gauge who is willing to stay at the club next season.

Webb has spoken to all his players on the phone and will meet the vast majority face-to-face at the club this evening in order to make further progress.

Several players have already committed to stay at Marine next year - Rob Dean, Tom Cole and Jon Beeden - but striker Bradley Gray has signed for big-spending Hungerford.

And while Webb admitted he would like to have kept hold of Gray, he said it would have been almost impossible to turn down the Bulpit Lane side.

“He’s one of the players that has played at a good level of football,” said the boss.

“We would have liked to keep him but we’re realistic and know players with pedigree will get touted by other clubs.

“We all know what Hungerford have got in terms of budget and unfortunately we haven’t go that luxury.”

Meanwhile, Marine’s much-delayed Wiltshire Premier Shield final against Salisbury could be played in pre-season.

The sides could not agree a date for the county’s top cup competition during the last campaign, but if it is to go ahead, then July is the likely month.

Both teams would be required to have all players signed on in order for them to play, but that should not be a problem for Marine.

Elsewhere, former joint boss Gary Horgan is set to take up the offer of a coaching role by the end of this week, while Marine have also agreed a new sponsorship deal with Wonga.

The finance company, which also sponsors Blackpool and Hearts, will have its logo emblazoned on Marine’s home and away shirts next season.
